Campaign Q&A

My campaign priorities are as follows:

1. Academic Excellence & Student Success

2. Safe Schools & Campus Security

3. Smart Growth & Strategic Planning

4. Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

5. Establish High Quality Summer Program

6. Strengthen Community Engagement

I have 20 years of experience in operations and management.  My expertise is in compliance, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.  I am skilled in data-driven decision-making and complex systems management.  As a current longtime HOA president and former business owner, I have vast experience in managing budgets, contracts, and financial oversight/accountability.

I believe that our students can achieve greater success by expanding innovative programs like Self-Paced Learning, CTE, AP and Dual Credit.   I also believe that is critical that we provide the necessary resources, oversight and support for ESL and Special Education

I believe that Lamar CISD should have a plan for responsible growth by supporting the district's strategic plan to develop new solutions that keep students enrolled, build new schools, and distribute resources effectively while preserving a strong sense of community.  I believe that we can strengthen teacher retention and recruitment by offering competitive pay, reducing workload burden, and ensuring staff has the support needed to thrive.  I am a strong advocate for educator development, job satisfaction, and expanded academic programs by providing fair compensation and resources for innovative courses and enrichment opportunities.

I believe that school safety and campus safety should be priority #1 for our kids.  Ensuring we have disciplined policies that are consistently implemented and enforced with accountability across all campuses is very important.    I believe we should regularly review and work to improve emergency plans to strengthen safety structures.

As a mother of two children in public school, I will ensure Lamar CISD is in a strong position to handle whatever takes place at the state level.  I am confident in my leadership skills and will work to strengthen the public education system.

I also recognize that public schools aren't the right fit for every child, and I am thankful we live in America, where we have the freedom to choose the institution that best meets our childrens' needs.

As a local school board member, I will be laser-focused on ensuring Lamar CISD is successful, regardless of legislation.
